Harmonia Axyridis

Harmonia axyridis, also known as the Asian lady beetle, is a natural predator that actively hunts and feeds on harmful pest insects, helping to reduce the need for chemical pesticides. It’s an ideal solution for organic and eco-friendly farming, supporting sustainable pest control while improving plant health and boosting crop yields. This beneficial insect is also safe for children, pets, and pollinators, making it a great choice for home gardens, greenhouses, and farms.

Application

To apply Harmonia axyridis, release the lady beetles early in the morning, in the evening, or on cloudy days when temperatures are cooler. Lightly mist the leaves beforehand to give the beetles hydration and create a more inviting environment. Gently release them at the base of plants where pests are active. For best results, continue releasing beetles throughout the growing season to disrupt the pest life cycle. The recommended release rate is 1 beetle per square foot. For light infestations, release monthly. For moderate infestations, apply bi-weekly for 2–3 rounds. For heavy infestations, release weekly for 2–4 rounds depending on severity.

Storage

For optimal results, store lady beetles in their original packaging at temperatures between 34°F and 45°F for up to two weeks. Refrigerate but do not freeze.
