Nesidio Shield

Nesidio Shield (Nesidiocoris tenuis) is a beneficial mirid bug and highly active predator that feeds on key agricultural pests such as whiteflies, aphids, thrips, mites, and moth eggs. Known for its strong adaptability in both greenhouse and open-field conditions, it effectively suppresses pest populations naturally while reducing reliance on chemical pesticides. This makes Nesidiocoris tenuis an effective, sustainable, and eco-friendly solution for long-term pest management in modern agriculture.

Application

Release Nesidio Shield preventively or curatively depending on pest pressure. Introduce the bugs 1.5–2 months after planting for preventive control, or at the first signs of spider mites for curative treatment. Apply directly in whitefly hotspots or areas with a history of outbreaks. Distribute Nesidio Shield evenly at a minimum of 8 release points per 1,000 m², sprinkling the bugs onto horizontal leaves to prevent loss to the ground. Optional release boxes with a thin layer of material may be used to support movement. Optimal performance is achieved between 20–25°C; lower temperatures may slow development. Reduce leaf pruning during the establishment period.

Storage

Store Nesidio Shield briefly at 8–10°C in a horizontal position to maintain insect viability. Keep containers upright during handling and use the product immediately upon receipt. Short-term storage is recommended; do not freeze.
